This was originally supposed to be part of a short funny comic in which Steven makes fun of Lapis’ unintended mimicry, and I wanted to start it by getting the most difficult part - this loop - out of the way first. But when the rough animation was done the moment had become weirdly... serene? I kinda liked that, so I focused on polishing the loop around that atmosphere instead and dropped the rest of the comic.
Tho looking back at it, it still looks kinda silly, so I guess the end result’s atmosphere is somewhere between silly and genuine and isn’t good at being either.
Also holy crap, converting some .pngs into a .webm because you’ve grossly overestimated .gif quality was a real pain.
